Using Stories as a Teaching Tool to Engage the 21st Century Language Learner


Workshop Content 

The 3-hour workshop focusses on the use of stories as a practical and powerful tool to engage young language learners in the 21st Century.
The language learner is constantly immersed in multi-modal experiences where he or she encounters stories through the written, spoken, aural and visual channels. Tried-and-tested strategies using stories will be presented and discussed during the session and participants will have a taste of some hands-on learning experiences which could be conducted in the English Language classroom.

Workshop Objectives

 At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  •  Use a range of strategies with stories to engage language learners
  •  Develop the skills to select and adapt stories and deliver your ideas clearly and convincingly in the classroom.

  •  Upper Primary School Teachers
  •  Lower Secondary School Teachers
